Corey R. Elmer

celmer@vogellaw.com

Corey concentrates his practice on business and real estate transactions, including formation of business entities, the buying and selling of businesses, and corporate law. He practices in both our Moorhead and Fargo offices. Corey serves as legal counsel to numerous small and large businesses, nonprofit organizations, local governments, and educational institutions, located throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. Prior to joining the Vogel Law Firm, Corey represented clients before the Minnesota Legislature and state agencies as a lobbyist for a Twin Cities law firm.

He obtained his education both in the United States and abroad. Corey received Bachelor of Arts degrees from Minnesota State University Moorhead, summa cum laude, and the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, with honours, which he earned under the auspices of the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship program. Corey earned his Juris Doctorate cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 2005, he was selected as a Marshall Memorial Fellow by the German Marshall Fund of the United States and completed a fellowship in Europe.

Civic participation is important to Corey. His community involvement includes the Moorhead Rotary Club and Rotary International, Minnesota Public Radio's regional advisory council, the FM Area Foundation, and the Minnesota State University Moorhead Alumni Foundation. He previously served on the Minnesota State Arts Board, the Moorhead Economic Development Authority, and chaired the President's Regional Advisory Council at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Minnesota State University Moorhead named Corey as its Outstanding Young Alum in 2003.

Corey grew up in the small Minnesota town of Evansville, where his family owned the local six-lane bowling alley and dance hall. Corey and his wife Brenda live in Moorhead with their three sons. When not practicing law, Corey enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and cheering on the kids in their activities.
