Joel Gilbertson Joel concentrates his practice in the area of government relations. He has more than 25 years of experience lobbying and regulatory representation. He chairs the firm's Legislative and Government Relations Group and offices in Bismarck. He also has an active practice in sports law and as a mediator and arbitrator. Joel's lobbying and regulatory clients include companies and associations in the healthcare (including hospitals and physicians), insurance (including health, property & casualty and life), pharmaceutical manufacturing, renewable energy, hospitality and beer wholesaling industries. He also has extensive background in state and national association management in the banking industry and organized bar activities. Joel also has significant experience in sports law. He has represented boxers, boxing promoters, managers and others in professional boxing from around the country, as well as executives and athletes in professional baseball and basketball. Joel and his wife, Jan, have two grown children, David and Lisa. Joel is an accomplished recording artist and pianist, having recorded and released three CD's. In addition he is the founder and former president of the Jeremiah Wine Company, a wine distributorship. He is a member of the Board of Regents of Concordia College and a former President of the State Bar Association of North Dakota.
