F. Snyder Gokey

fgokey@vogellaw.com

Snyder focuses exclusively on immigration law for businesses and families, bringing to his immigration practice broad experience as a former government attorney and long-time business attorney.

Snyder assists businesses in obtaining employment-based visas for skilled foreign nationals they wish to hire, including temporary visas and permanent green cards. He also assists businesses in evaluating and auditing their I-9 work authorization system to assure compliance with the ever tightening laws regarding unauthorized workers, and assists businesses who are the subject of enforcement actions.

Snyder assists individuals with seeking family-based immigration including those who seek immigration for spouses, fiances, and other family members. He also assists individuals who are already legal permanent residents with seeking citizenship through naturalization.

Snyder consults with family law and criminal defense attorneys, providing them with information on the potentially serious immigration consequences of pending family law matters or criminal charges against their foreign national clients.

Snyder brings years of experience as a former government attorney and long-time business attorney to his practice of immigration law. Before joining the Vogel firm in 1986, Snyder spent four years as a trial attorney for the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. For many years after joining the firm in 1986, Snyder practiced primarily as a business attorney, representing businesses of all sizes in matters ranging from business formation, to contracts, to regulatory compliance in a wide range of areas. For more than a decade Snyder focused on all aspects of the business issues of health care providers. This experience has allowed Snyder to bring a unique understanding of the practicalities of government and business issues to his practice of immigration law.

Snyder is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the North Dakota Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the North Dakota and Minnesota Bar Associations, and admitted to practice before the US District Courts of North Dakota and Minnesota, and the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
