Bob represents clients in the areas of employment law, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), medical malpractice defense, and health care law. Bob is a 1976 graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Law where he was Articles Editor of the Law Review. He also received his undergraduate degree from UND in 1970.

Bob has represented physicians, clinics, hospitals and long term care facilities in trial and regulatory matters in North Dakota, Minnesota and Montana. He has also presented numerous seminars on employment and health care law topics. Bob previously served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army and as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of North Dakota. Brigadier General Udland is currently the Assistant Adjutant General-Army and Commander, Joint Training and Operations Command for the North Dakota National Guard. Bob received the Outstanding Chair Award from the State Bar Association of North Dakota for dedicated service to the State Bar Association Inquiry Committee West in 1999. He is currently a member of the Joint Committee on Attorney Standards.

Bob is a Qualified Neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice and is listed on the North Dakota Statewide ADR Neutral Roster for Civil Mediation. In addition to his extensive legal background, he has completed several courses in mediation, including the Mediation Workshop at the Program of Negotiation at Harvard Law School (June 2007).

Bob is a native of Williston, North Dakota. He and his wife Ann live in Fargo, North Dakota where he is a member of the FM-AM Rotary Club. In his spare time he enjoys photography, fly fishing, and traveling with Ann.
