Did you know . . .

On February 17, the City of Fargo extended its mask mandate through at least March 22.  For employers located in Fargo, this mandate means that face coverings are still required in all indoor workplaces, unless an individual is exempt, such as for a medical condition or disability that prevents the wearing a face covering.

In other COVID-19 news, the North Dakota House of Representatives recently passed a bill (HB 1376) that would provide immunity to North Dakota employers from civil liability for damage, loss, or injury resulting from an employee or independent contractor contracting, being exposed to, or potentially being exposed to COVID-19 during the course of employment.  An exception to immunity exists if the employer’s willful misconduct or infliction of harm caused the injury.  Under this bill, immunity would extend to all civil actions filed after March 1, 2021, as well as claims the employee knew or should have known about before that date.  Stay tuned to find out if the North Dakota Senate passes this bill.
