The partners, attorneys and staff of Vogel Law Firm proudly congratulate our colleague, Mark A. Friese, on his appointment to the bench of the North Dakota Supreme Court.
“Mark has embodied excellence, integrity and dedication throughout his career,” said Bruce D. Quick, who has served at Vogel Law Firm for 35 years and worked closely with Mark in the Criminal Defense Practice Group. “His deep commitment to justice, his breadth of experience and the profound respect he has earned within the legal community make him exceptionally well suited for this role. The people of North Dakota will be well served by his leadership on the Court.”
Mark’s career reflects a lifetime of honorable service and legal achievement. Before joining Vogel Law Firm, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Dale V. Sandstrom of the North Dakota Supreme Court. He also served the Bismarck community as a police officer in tactical and bomb disposal assignments and dedicated 24 years to the North Dakota Army National Guard as a state judge advocate.
In addition to his criminal defense practice, Mark has significant experience in administrative and employment-related matters, including representing law enforcement officers across the region through the Fraternal Order of Police. His work reflects a deep understanding of public service and the complex legal issues facing those who serve their communities.
At Vogel, Mark built a nationally respected criminal defense practice. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, has been repeatedly recognized by Super Lawyers and has been consistently named among The Best Lawyers in America for his criminal defense work.
“Mark is not only an exceptional lawyer, he’s an exceptional person. He cares deeply about people, about fairness, and about doing things the right way. While we’ll miss having him here at Vogel every day, we know he will serve the people of North Dakota with integrity, humility, and sound judgment,” said Andrew Smith, President of Vogel Law Firm.
Vogel Law Firm thanks Mark for his years of service and congratulates him on this well-deserved appointment. We wish him continued success as he begins this important chapter in service to the citizens of North Dakota.
